Samana is a peninsula on the north, east coast of the Dominican Republic. It is three hour drive from Puerto Plata and six hours from Santo Domingo. With its lovely white sand beaches flanked by tall coconut trees, this island is a popular day outing with boatloads of tourists arriving daily.
