“ Excellent Family Resort”
we have two young children, aged 20 mos and 3 1/2 yrs.this resort was absolutely fabulous for our childre-everything caters to families.the only problem we had was when we upgraded to a family suite and the manager we dealt with was very rude and arrogant when they told us to move rooms and the new room wasn't yet cleaned.i must say though, everyone else in the entire resort was incredible, from the housekeeping to the bellboys, to the waiters in all of the restaurants. if you don't need to talk to a manager, you'll be fine.great family resort for kids, food was excellent, service fantastic.

“ The Crown”
To make a comment "just" on the hotel and there staff is very easy. Beyond amazing! You can definitely tell that cleanliness is a must by the owners and it shows. The food was exceptional and the presentation and tatse of the food at the nightly restaurant is comparable to any high class joint here in Canada.
My only mild complaints. We stayed in the north building and it was very well taken care of, but my sister and her friend got put in the south one. The south building seemed to be a bit of an after thought. Her A/C wasnt that great and the room allways had a mild musty mildew smell to it.
Every bar including the swim up on the resort can be problematic to get a drink from unless you know how to rush the crowds to get there and even when you finaly make it, there under staffed and it can take a while to be served unless you tip and tip well on every drink.
I cant express this part enough. Bring your mosquito spray!!!!!!! You will get eaten alive at night if you dont. If you forget, you can buy some from the gift shop but it will cost you. Every thing in there including gifts, sunscreen and water had a 300% to 500% mark up on it. The $3 can of mosquito spray at walmart was $15 at the gift shop.
The hotel caters more to the 3 to 15 and then 30 to 65 year old crowd. If your any year in between or looking for a "party" hotel then the Crown might not be the place for you, as its very much family oriented. But if your looking for a place to bring the kids, relax, take in some ocean and nightly shows, I would recomend the Crown Paradise.

“ Awesome trip!”
We loved the resort! The food and drink selection was really good. Really friendly and helpful staff. Good location, only 20 min from airport and 20 min from downtown. There are a lot of really nice looking restaurants/bar/clubs in the downtown area if you want to leave the resort for something different. The only two annoyances were getting stopped in the lobby daily by staff trying to get you come watch a presentation to come back to the resort, and they have a really extensive activity list, but don't always offer what they say it will. The a la carte restaurants were great, and you can actually get a reservation at them, since there are so many to choose from. The resort offers an excellent value.

“ Not great”
I had read a lot of reviews on tripadvisor.com before going so I knew the service may be mediocre and so on. I didn't have huge expectations, and I have been to many all-inclusives in the past (for comparisons sake).
They couldn't get our two rooms to be side-by-side until 3 days into the trip. This was a huge issue for me, as we had gone as one family with my mom. We wanted her next to our room to help out with the kids and so forth. I do not know how this hotel manages to accomodate families that need more than one room as they didn't seem to understand that it was important for us to be side-by-side. Not only did it take several days to accomodate us, it also meant I had to spend some time EVERY day waiting to talk to someone, being at the front desk, getting the run around etc ... it's such a huge pain to deal with this every day on your VACATION when you're supposed to be relaxing!!!
Otherwise, the food, the service in the restaurants, the pool/beach, the view from the room, the cleanliness was all great!
