Jacó is located on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica in Central America. Situated in Garabito county in the province of Puntarenas, Jacó is a two hour drive from San José International Airport (SJO). The population of the city is about 10 000. The beach in Jacó is 4 km long and is great for surfing. Carara National Park is 15 miles north of Jacó, It is known for its animated wildlife and thick rain forest. Wild Scarlet Macaws exist in abundance in Carara.
